#Sony update 2.0 manual#
The unit needs manual controls for tone and balance.but that would cost more probably. The electronic controls are something of a pain to use. It's just silly how much force it takes to twist it. The volume control has a ton of friction in it. It is strong, but not 100 watts strong IMO. My old 70's amp had 90 watts and it was a lot more powerful. I can't see how it has 100 watts per channel. But, at this price range, this would be expected. This amp has acceptable sound, but it does not match them. I am used to high quality integrated amps from the 70's. All in all, this is a solid unit at a very affordable price, very happy with it so far! I think the only negative is the two big dials on the front of the receiver, one for volume, & one for input selecting, they look kind of awkward, & you're bound to use the remote instead of those 99% of the time, push buttons would've looked better, but that is a minor quibble. The remote is real nice, seems to have every function you could hope for.
#Sony update 2.0 Bluetooth#
The Bluetooth feature doesn't mean much to me, though maybe that'll change in the future.Anyway, very pleased with this receiver. That was very important to me, as I will be using it for playing vinyl, CD's, & even tapes at times. What swung things in favor of the Sony was the phono input, which the Yamaha did not have. I wanted a basic 2-channel one, & was comparing a Yamaha receiver with this Sony model, both were about the same price.

Both of these features are available on Microsoft’s rival console, the Xbox Series X. Two of the most demanded PS5 tweaks would be 1440p resolution support and the ability to use a variable refresh rate display, which allows a screen to match the framerate of the console, smoothing framerate drops. While PS5 firmware 2.0 has been well-received, there are still plenty of other requested features that fans are patiently waiting for. With a vertical trophy list format also added, the update addressed several fan complaints. He’s also happy with how the PS5's 3D audio has turned out on the system and agrees that easy storage expansion is important to many gamers. Nishino states that he’s proud of the firmware 2.0 update and finds the new trophy tracker to be his favorite addition. So, we are receiving a bunch of feedback from the community through social networks or system telemetry, as well as the media, my family, my friends.

Nishino stated that “.there are interesting, exciting, fantastic ideas on the list. Nishino doesn’t name any specific features that Sony is working on for future PS5 updates, but instead hypes up the use of telemetry and community feedback as a way for the team to identify features that players really want. I want to say in the Japanese way, I’m diligently working on these lists and there will be more coming out in the future.” There’s a lot the community is asking for as well. When asked about what the Platform Experience team is working on next for future updates, Nishino replied, “.when I look back at the list of things we need to do, there’s a lot. Judging by an interview on the official PlayStation Blog with Hideaki Nishino, Sony’s SVP of Platform Experience, some exciting things are in the works. It appears that Sony isn’t done with PS5 updates, either. RELATED: PS5 2.0 Update Reportedly Improves Game Performance

This is no small feat either, as that console is the second-best home game console of all time, behind only the PlayStation 2.ĭespite the impressive year one PS5 sale numbers, Sony is not resting on its laurels with the PS5, as it recently released the PS5 2.0 firmware on September 15th. Sony has already sold more than 10 million PS5 consoles, meaning the new device is currently outpacing the sales of its predecessor, the PlayStation 4.
